KATARINA - Available

Katarina is the most fun of all the pups. She has always been the smallest of the pups
yet the most feisty. She is also the first to try to climb into our laps. If there is a scrum
either she started it or is in the middle of it. Her name comes from Katarina Witt who
while not Russian (she competed for East Germany) was a great and striking figure
skating champion in the 1980’s. She won two Olympic gold medals and four at the
world championships.

SERGEI - Adopted

Sergei probably has more of his dad’s traits than any of the other pups.
He can be independent yet affectionate. His head and build reminds us of puppy
Czar. The name “Sergei” comes from one of the most dominant athletes in track and
field history. Sergei Bubka broke the world record in the pole vault 35 times in a career
that spanned the 1980’s and 90’s.

VASIL - Adopted

Wanting attention, Vasil makes friends wherever he goes. He also may be the
most athletic of the pups. He loves to jump into an unoccupied lap or chair frequently
over his litter mates. Vasil was the largest of the pups at birth and still is. It seemed fitting
that he be named after the greatest super heavyweight weightlifter of all time Vasiliy
Alekseyev who set 80 world records in the 1970’s.

MARTINA - Adopted

Martina can be silly yet gives the boys all they can handle. She was the first to
climb stairs and climb into chairs on our deck. From one of those chairs she even climbed onto the picnic table. Her namesake is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Martina Navratilova won 18 grand slam singles titles and 41 doubles titles.

ALEX - Staying here with us

Alex caught our eye early. He has running mannerisms like his mom. He moves
so gracefully. He also seemed to just tell us that he was going to stay with his mom
and dad. Yet we struggled with a name for this puppy. With time we knew we wanted to
name him after one of the greatest hockey players in Russian history- Vladislav
Aleksandrovich Tretiak who may have been the best goalie ever to put on skates.
Too much a mouthful, we decided that “Alex” works for a call name.
